The facility will support more than 40 different types of military aircraft.

The tunnel under the Swina Strait is to be 1.4 km long. It will connect the islands of
Usedom and Wolin, between which it is currently only possible to travel by ferry. It will
be hollowed out with the use of a TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine). The inner diameter of
the tunnel will be 12 m, and the outer diameter - 13 m.
Inside, there will be a road with two 3.5 m wide lanes, and an evacuation tunnel below
the road.

The roof design is a distinctive lattice structure, taking the ghaf, the country’s national tree, as inspiration, while wooden features inside reflect traditional dhow sailing vessels.
